Testimonials

  • I decided to setup a small business providing book-keeping and payroll services shortly after my retirement.  My previous experience had given me a background in administration and financial management but no direct experience of industry.  Membership of the IAB proved invaluable in getting the project off the ground. Not only did they endorse my qualifications;  I have since achieved FIAB; but they also provided a range of essential services such as a Practice ...

  • In 2011 I enrolled at the UWI Open Campus in Barbados to pursue the Level 3 Diploma in Bookkeeping & Accounting.  Taking that first course was like a refresher for me which led to me taking another course.  As the studies progressed they became challenging but with the help of my tutor Mr. Brathwaite and Louise Scott my personal attendant at IAB it became easier and led to my successful completion of three Level 3 exams. I even attained my MIAB designation.  ...

  • Studying on a distance learning course is a really flexible way of tailoring your studies around your work and home life. For this reason distance learning really appealed to me. I have a busy life and trying to commit to a set day or evening every week was difficult for me. I was able to study when and where I wanted and also being able to control how quickly I could complete the course was so helpful. I was always confident I was on top of my studies; if I was busy one week ...

  • I found studying by Distance Learning a lot better than I thought it would be. The text books provided with the course are excellent, and I was able to complete the course a lot quicker than I would have been able to following a college-based curriculum.

Notes:
1    Green font indicates IAB qualifications which require the learner to demonstrate ability in the use of a computer software application which is capable of enabling learners to complete the learning outcomes of the IAB syllabus and assessment requirements.
2    Learners may switch type of qualification when progressing through the levels but in general are advised to ensure that, prior to commencement of a course, they already have sound knowledge and skills at the level below that which they intend to start studying for.
3    Both the IAB level 2 and level 3 Certificates in Bookkeeping are valid for use in Apprenticeships in Bookkeeping in England and are eligible for this source of funding.
4    Both the IAB level 2 and level 3 Certificates in Applied Bookkeeping are composite qualifications, containing the IAB Manual Bookkeeping and IAB Computerised Bookkeeping qualifications at the same level.
5    IAB centres with contracts with the Skills Funding Agency and other UK government bodies, may find that they can obtain funding towards the provision of courses leading to IAB QCF qualifications. Centres/providers are advised to check the current funding status and eligibility with the relevant book-keeping authority.
6    IAB NQF qualifications are particularly suited to overseas centres given the straightforward nature of the assessment method (by end of course exams only with no in-course assessments). NQF qualifications are not eligible for government funding in the United Kingdom, but for those centres or individuals who do not wish to access funding, these qualifications may suit their needs.
7    If required, please contact the IAB for further advice regarding the most appropriate IAB qualification(s) to meet your needs, either as an individual learner or Centres/providers interested in offering courses leading to IAB qualifications.
