How do I study for IAB qualifications?
There are three main methods of studying for IAB qualifications:

  • By attending a course run by an IAB accredited training provider, or
  • By studying through a distance learning course run by an IAB accredited distance learning provider, or
  • By home study

How do I enter for IAB examinations?

Once you and your tutor feel that you are ready to enter for an examination, you will need to complete an Examination Entry Form and submit it to IAB, together with the relevant Examination Entry Fee.

It is important when completing the form, to ensure that you are entering for the correct sitting, and that you have ticked the correct examination(s), as changes to entries cannot be accepted once your entry has been registered. You should also ensure that you submit your entry before the closing date as entries will only be accepted for a limited period after that date, and will be subject to payment of a late entry fee. Please see the Examination Timetable for details of closing dates

A letter confirming your examination entry will be sent to you approximately 6 weeks prior to the examination date.

Do I need to register as a student with IAB to sit the examinations?
It is no longer necessary for you to register as a student with IAB in order to be eligible to enter for any IAB examinations. As soon as you enter for your first examination, you will automatically be registered as a student for a period of one year. This will be renewed for a fresh twelve month period with each subsequent examination entry. Annual subscriptions are no longer payable.

How will I receive my examination results?
Examination results letters are issued by post no later than ten weeks after the date on which you sit your exam. Certificates for individual units or complete qualifications that you have passed will be supplied on application at an additional cost as shown on the Fees List.
