Bookkeeper of the Year
Jenny Neale
Jenny’s bookkeeping journey started in 2007 after the birth of her first child. Studying payroll and bookkeeping qualifications led to the launch of her new business. Since joining the IAB as a Fellow, she hasn’t looked back! This award recognised her impressive contribution to bookkeeping, and for being a highly respected IAB member.

Accountant of the Year
Paul Susans
Paul’s unstinting dedication to his clients and support of local businesses made him a worthy winner. As well as being an invaluable member of Hampshire-based Wettone Matthews Limited, Paul is also the mastermind behind a successful business club – Alton for Business, or A4B for short. Open to all for the cost of a breakfast, the weekly club has grown in popularity due to its relaxed atmosphere and free networking. Guest speakers give local businesses the opportunity to learn from each other and grow their business knowledge.

Payroll Professional of the Year
Kristine Johnson
Qualified through the IAB, Kristine Johnson is an inspirational payroll manager and business owner of her own Enfield-based consultancy and training company. Inspiring colleagues to keep learning is behind much of her success. She clinched the award with her combined payroll expertise and impressive business skills.

Small Business Mentor of the Year
Quentin Pain
Quentin has been a top business entrepreneur for more than thirty years, with several successful businesses to his name including British software company, Accountz. A published author, he’s also an accredited mentor at the IAB. Much valued by his mentees, he thrives on sharing ‘tried and tested’ experience to help grow any business.

Vivienne Burrows Award for Longstanding Commitment to the IAB
Chris Morris
Accountancy expert Chris Morris was a worthy recipient of this special IAB award. After joining the IAB in 1977, he was elected to the Council 18 years later serving on the PR, Membership, and District Societies Working Groups, and then elected as Vice-Chairman of the IAB Council in 2008. He has been a stalwart of the East Anglia Local Branch and previously served the District Society in Surrey and North Hampshire as Secretary and Chairman from 1991 to 2001.

Educational Leadership in Bookkeeping Qualifications
Barry Curran
Barry Curran was awarded for his unstinting dedication to the IAB for over 15 years.

Educational Leadership in Payroll Qualifications
Penny Randall
Chief payroll examiner for the IAB, Penny was honoured for her outstanding contribution. Formally an IAB tutor and member of the IAB Council, Penny fully deserved her accolade.

Educational Leadership in Computerised Bookkeeping Qualifications
Sue Holmes
Former chief computerised bookkeeping examiner for the IAB, Sue now runs her own distance learning business. An IAB Fellow, she was applauded for her boundless enthusiasm and dedication to learning.

Innovation in Qualifications in Accounting for Business
Fiona Bradley and Sage
Consultant and accredited Sage developer, Fiona Bradley, approached the IAB with a pioneering learning concept, along with associated learning materials. Rather than learn from a manual or through an abstract course, the concept focused on learning computerised accounting within a small business context. In collaboration with the IAB, the qualification was developed. Today, it helps both business owners and students learn how to make best use of accounting software. Both Fiona and Sage were honoured for their inspiring contribution.

The accolade of ‘Championing the Needs of Small Businesses’ was bestowed on the FSB for its relentless work in helping thousands of small businesses.
