The IAB has thrown its support behind #MicroBizMattersDay, when business people around the world are being encouraged to give nine minutes of their time to help owners of micro businesses and the self-employed. Organised by micro business self-help community Enterprise Rockers, the event takes place on January 9, 2015.
“We are asking everyone to give nine minutes, day or night, to make life better for owners of micro enterprises, which are defined as employing up to nine people,” said Tony Robinson OBE, founder of Enterprise Rockers. “That support can take many forms. You could use social media to promote the name of a micro business whose services you use or whose products you buy, buy something online from one, or pay any outstanding bills you owe micro businesses.”
IAB Chief Executive Malcolm Trotter said his organisation was proud to support #MicroBizMattersDay. “Many of our members are either self-employed or run or work for micro businesses, and many of their clients fall into the same category,” said Malcolm. “We work closely with Tony Robinson and Enterprise Rockers who help provide free guidance, support and inspiration for our members.
“#MicroBizMattersDay is an excellent way of raising the profile of such a crucial part of the economy. I am encouraging our members to take part and, in turn, encourage their clients to do the same.”
