Employment law update
Safwan Afridi will be providing an update on the significant changes that have affected the employment law arena. This will include a recap and update on employment status, which every individual and employer should be aware of as it could have a significant effect on their potential tax liability. The talk will include an update on the gig economy, practical tips to determine an individual’s employment status and an overview of other recent changes affecting individuals and employers.
About the speaker
Safwan advises employees and employers on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law in a range of sectors, including healthcare, sport and media. He has experience in drafting contracts, policies and procedures and drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, as well as advising on disciplinary and grievance procedures. He is also experienced in bringing and defending a wide range of employment tribunal claims, including: ordinary and unfair dismissals, constructive dismissals, discrimination and redundancies.
