The key mistakes accountancy firms make with their marketing and client communications
This talk will focus on the typical marketing and client communication techniques that practices tend to follow, with an explanation of how these techniques do not ‘hit the spot’ anymore and what a practice can do now to make them more effective. 3 learning outcomes from this session are:
- How to make your marketing spend work harder for you
- How to communicate more effectively with clients and contacts/prospects
- How to use content dynamically to improve client communication and practice marketing
About the speaker
Laurence Vogel has been in marketing and sales for over 20 years. Prior to starting Informanagement in the UK. With the last 11 years at Informanagement UK, Laurence has been solely working with accountancy firms across the whole of the UK, helping them improve how they communicate to clients and how to use content effectively for the firm’s marketing. Laurence has over 500 practices across the whole of the UK that use the Informanagement platform with 75% of them being small firms and sole practitioners.
Informanagement was started in The Netherlands in 2003 by 2 accountants looking for a way to improve their marketing and client communications. Informanagement is a cloud platform that helps accountancy firms use content to improve their marketing and client communications – from content on a practice website to targeted and tailored newsletters and much much more. Over the last few years Informanagement has widened its content offering to include topical factsheets and structured and unstructured CPD for practitioners, whilst the services always make the practitioner think about the clients that they look after and represent.

Jonathan Barber will provide members with an overview of their responsibilities in relation to IFA Practice Regulations including Anti Money Laundering Compliance, CPD, PI requirements and alternate cover.
In addition, Jonathan will update members on letters of engagement and other member benefits available.
About the speaker
Jonathan has worked with accountants for over twenty years, the last seven at the Institute of Financial Accountants. He is the Institutes Head of Business Development. Part of this role is supporting members, whether they be in practice or business. A passionate advocate of small businesses and small accounting practitioners.
