Testimonials

  • I would like to take this opportunity of thanking you for all your help and advice when I recently joined the International Association of Bookkeepers.   I was kept fully informed of all stages of my application and on the acceptance of my membership I was sent a certificate of membership along with a great leather folder of information. I have also needed the assistance of the compliance team when trying to move my supervision for money laundering to the IAB after ...

  • There are several things I like about being a member of the IAB, but I think the most important one to me personally is that the organisation is about people.  Helping people, training people and encouraging people to be great bookkeepers. I'm certain my business wouldn't have survived it's first year without their guidance and reassurance.

  • Becoming a member of IAB and now IAAP are two of the best investments I feel I could have become a part of. They represent International bodies that especially in this technological and digital age serve to keep you in the arena of being successful. In almost every fibre of business is bookkeeping and accounting and to be able to not only have the resources and benefits; you can proudly and confidently walk beside other professionals wearing your designated letters behind yo ...

  • The IAB course has given me a passion for bookkeeping and now I have an internationally recognised qualification to help me build my career. The course motivated me to learn more about how businesses work and has made me realise how in-demand bookkeeping is – I know my skills will always be needed. With distance learning you can work at your own pace around your commitments. This was great for me plus, I get the one-to-one support I need from professional tutors.

Once you’re IAB qualified, you have the choice to take your career in countless directions. Perhaps you dream of going to university, but have never had the chance? Or being a chartered accountant with your own practice?

Now you can. Because your IAB qualification is recognised by a host of professional bodies, you can apply to study for a higher level financial course. Crucially, your IAB credentials are counted as an entry credit, or exemption towards qualifications.

The following UK professional bodies grant exemptions to IAB-qualified holders:

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
  • Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants (CIPFA)

Get a university degree and go places!

To take your qualifications to a higher level, study for a degree. Did you know many UK universities accept IAB qualifications as entry points? Here are some examples:

The University of Northampton: If you hold both the IAB level 3 Diploma in Accounting and Advanced Book-keeping and the IAB level 3 Certificate in Cost and Management Accounting, you can apply for the BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance course.

The University of Bolton: Want to study for a BA (Hons) Accountancy degree? You can start as a first year student if you have achieved level 3 IAB Diplomas in: Cost and Management Accounting, Accounting and Advanced Bookkeeping and Business Law.

The university also grants 'exemptions’ if you have a level four Diploma in Financial Information for Managers, as well as Accounting to International Standards (in addition to the three level three Diplomas).

Please note: universities only accept IAB qualified student applications at level 3 and above as they are comparable to ‘A’ levels.
