HMRC has arranged further Talking Points sessions. Please find further details of these online meetings below:
Companies House – The requirement to file accounts applies to almost ever entity on the Companies House register. The focus of this meeting is to digitally enable those types of accounts which currently have to be filed on paper. This meeting will discuss the ways this has been carried out and what is needed in order to achieve this goal.

Automatic enrolment update – the year ahead – This meeting is for business advisers like you, who are managing your clients’ automatic enrolment (AE) duties on their behalf. This update from The Pensions Regulator will cover the rules change scheduled for this financial year, including the increase in legal minimums for pension contributions and when the duties will start for new employers from October.

VAT and Motoring Expenses – This meeting will provide a reminder of the general rules that apply when reclaiming VAT on the purchase of cars and when hiring and leasing vehicles. HMRC will briefly cover commercial vehicles, other motoring expenses and record keeping. There will be the usual opportunity to ask HMRC subject matter experts your questions.
Tuesday 23 May – midday to 1pm: Register now for this meeting
Capital Allowances and Vehicles – This meeting mainly covers the special rules for cars. If you use traditional accounting find out how to claim tax relief for vehicles and other longer life items bought to use in a business. This is a popular subject so HMRC are running two meetings.
