National Minimum Wage (NMW) – common errors made by employers: Employers must pay the NMW and National Living Wage at the right rate. There are a number of errors that employers make which tip them into non-compliance. Find out more for your clients.
Thursday 21 September – 11am to midday: Register now
The tax avoidance cycle and how to get out of it: Covering the tax avoidance cycle and how to get out of it in a quick and efficient way using Counter-Avoidance’s Multiple-Exit Team. There will be a Q&A with a team of experts involved in the settlement of complex avoidance cases.

Automatic enrolment duties for new employers: If your client becomes an employer for the first time on or after 1 October 2017, they will immediately have legal duties for their new member of staff. In this meeting HMRC will take you through the duties and the latest news from the Pensions Regulator with time to answer your automatic enrolment and re-enrolment questions.

Basis Periods – looking at commencement years, changes to accounting date and overlapping periods: Focusing on basis periods, a subject that’s prominent around the self-assessment peaks. HMRC will look at the different rules that apply to commencement years, the effect on a basis period when there is a change of accounting date and overlapping periods.
Wednesday 27 September – 11am to midday: Register now
VAT and Motoring Expenses: Providing details of the general rules that apply when reclaiming VAT on the purchase of cars and hiring and leasing vehicles. HMRC will briefly cover commercial vehicles, other motoring expenses and record keeping. There will be the usual opportunity to ask questions.
Tuesday 3 October – 11am to midday: Register now
Paying the right amount of tax through Pay as you earn (PAYE): HMRC have improved the way they use real time information to make automatic adjustments to PAYE tax codes as they happen, rather than waiting until the end of the tax year. This event will explain how this will affect employers and their staff.
