Educators in the need to embrace rapid transformation and truly meet learners’ needs if they are to be successful in the future.
In a stark warning, the ACCA reveals global analysis shows educators are not meeting the needs of either learners or employers when it comes to professional education for accountants.
A surprising finding in the report, called ‘Developing the skills of the sustainable business and finance professional’, is the role Artificial Intelligence (AI) and gamification is having on learning and development. Both learners and educators across all age ranges gave these a low ‘positive response’ rate, as a way of developing a broad range of capabilities. This will in part, says ACCA, be due to a lack of understanding of what gamification and AI are and what they can achieve; as well as a fear among tutors that the technology will be complex or that it will make their roles redundant.
