Somerset accountant Stephen Love has been jailed after using £350,000 of a client’s VAT payments to help the cash flow of his business.
Love, a director of construction company JBA Martin Limited and Wessex Accountants Limited, looked after the building firm’s books. He was sentenced to two years and three months in prison. Judge David Ticehurst said: “You knew what you were doing as a full-trained accountant. This was a serious offence and the criminal act has an impact on your family.”
