Testimonials

  • I found studying by Distance Learning a lot better than I thought it would be. The text books provided with the course are excellent, and I was able to complete the course a lot quicker than I would have been able to following a college-based curriculum.

  • As a member of "IAB", I find the services provided by this organisation excellent.  It helps me to achieve my work goals and keep up to date with current financial information. I really enjoyed the newsletter that I read at my own pace.  I find all the IAB staff extremely supportive.  The CPD structure is so flexible that it fits in with my other commitment. I would definitely recommend membership to anyone. What a fantastic organisation!

  • There are several things I like about being a member of the IAB, but I think the most important one to me personally is that the organisation is about people.  Helping people, training people and encouraging people to be great bookkeepers. I'm certain my business wouldn't have survived it's first year without their guidance and reassurance.

  • Becoming a member of IAB and now IAAP are two of the best investments I feel I could have become a part of. They represent International bodies that especially in this technological and digital age serve to keep you in the arena of being successful. In almost every fibre of business is bookkeeping and accounting and to be able to not only have the resources and benefits; you can proudly and confidently walk beside other professionals wearing your designated letters behind yo ...

2012-2016 Fees

IAB study fees 2013-2016

Before studying IAB qualifications, let us take the guesswork out of your study fees and other costs - to help you budget ahead. Plus, find a host of key dates and helpful information below helping you stay on top of your studies.

Student registration for QCF Qualifications

Due to assessment regulations, register with your training centre one month before your course starts. This is especially important for qualifications based on knowledge tests, assignments and projects.

Once registered, you automatically become an IAB student member! And can start making the most of numerous benefits and study-support through your online member area.

If you decide to withdraw from a course after paying your admission fee, you are entitled to a 50% refund within 28 days of registering*. Once the 28 day period has passed no refund will be permitted. A refund isn’t possible if this date goes beyond the official closing date.
*does not apply to accelerated or short duration courses. Please check with the education team if you need clarification

For further help, simply get in touch with your training provider.

Total IAB fees

One of the best aspects of studying IAB qualifications is that student fees are clearly set out – with no hidden costs.

Registering for the qualifications detailed in the table below entitles you to:

  • Student IAB membership for 12 months
  • Copies of centre-based knowledge tests, projects and exams
  • Marking schemes and model answers on request to education@iab.org.uk

Though training centres mark your knowledge tests, assignments and projects, we always ask for a 20% sample for moderation to ensure standards are maintained.

Other than re-sits, the fees below represent the total cost of gaining your chosen qualification. And to support your learning further, comprehensive study packs are available to buy online.

Need to do a re-sit?

Have you failed a single unit in an exam? Worry not, you can retake. Providing the exam contains three or more units, you simply re-sit the failed unit as an assignment under open book conditions.

Here’s what happens:

  • Request the paper from your training provider; your tutor will mark it for you
  • The marked assignment is returned to be moderated by the IAB
  • If you pass, you’ll be awarded the full qualification

The fee for a re-sit assignment is £15 per assignment.
The fee for re-sitting a project is £30

Students who fail two units in an examination containing three or more units will be expected to re-sit the complete exam paper either as an on-demand exam or at the next examination session. The fee for the re-sit is £30 per exam plus external examination fee if necessary.

Cancellation of Exam

When a student/centre is unable to sit an exam without a valid reason and the papers have been dispatched to the centre the IAB reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of £50 per student

Transfer Fee

When a student/centre wishes to re-arrange an exam for a previously registered exam sitting the IAB reserves the right to charge a transfer fee of £30 per student

Duplicate Certificate Fee

If you need a duplicate certificate, it costs £15 per document.

Qualification transfer fee

If you have passed all units in a lower qualification, you can apply for the lower qualification certificate at £30 per qualification.
