IAB Economic, Social, and Governance Commitments
As a non-profit membership organisation, the IAB is dedicated to supporting its members through education to help them succeed.
With a mission to Elevate the Standards of Business and Finance the IAB continues to evolve to meet the changing financial and business landscapes. The sustainability journey of the IAB focuses not only on the organisation itself but also on its members and partners, aiming to collaborate for the benefit of future generations.
In line with best practices for sustainability, the IAB emphasises the importance of focusing on what can be changed and working together towards common goals. By aligning our efforts with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, particularly focusing on Quality Education, the IAB emphasises education as a key area of impact where collaboration and connection can drive positive change.
Education lies at the heart of the IAB, providing a platform for significant transformations to take place. With ample resources available to us, we are well-equipped to interact and collaborate on a number of levels.
- In partnership with our Education Partners, we independently and collectively provide a variety of educational opportunities at all levels.
- Through our member benefit and business development brands, we advocate for continuous education and ESG advancement for our members and their customers.
- By working with chosen charitable organisations and ESG partners, we bolster our sustainability efforts and societal influence.
In a testament to collaboration and expanding the breadth of our audience we have partnered with the London House of Consultants.
In a demonstration of collaboration and broadening our reach, we have joined forces with the London House of Consultants (LHC), established by Dr. Iyad Nasr in the UK. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between aspirations and accomplishments by connecting corporates, international organisations, and the United Nations with academic and professional education systems.
Through this collaboration, and endorsement of the Certificate in Humanitarian Diplomacy and Certificate in Humanitarian Leadership, which empowers professionals in diplomacy, NGO management, and leadership. IAB aims to play a crucial role in providing educational support at an operational level in the humanitarian field.
These certifications enhance expertise in diplomatic skills, strategic planning, economic management, and governance, equipping individuals to navigate complex humanitarian challenges and effectively lead NGOs for sustainable change.
Understanding where we can make a difference
Like any business looking at sustainability best practices and establishing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, the first phrases that spring to mind are ‘Where do I start?’, ‘How is this relevant to me?
After a lot of searching, we decided on two things:
- Focus on what you can change – of course, it's important to reduce your carbon emissions but as an organisation what is our strength?
- Look at the bigger picture. We can only make a difference if we work together. The IAB aligns its work and efforts in sustainability with the United Nations’ 17
Sustainable Development Goals https://sdgs.un.org/goals specifically goal number 4, Quality Education
Education is at the heart of the IAB, it's an area where we can make a difference, we have a lot to offer and are well placed to connect and collaborate with people.
Independently and with our Education Partners provide and develop quality educational opportunities for all
Mobilise our member benefit partners to support sustainable education and ESG development for members and their clients/customers
Collaborate with chosen charities and our ESG partners to improve our sustainability positioning and contribution to society
