Introducing IAB and LCCI’s partnership
One of the world’s most recognised business organisations, the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry has supported British businesses for more than 120 years. Throughout that time, its purpose has remained the same: to help businesses grow by developing the skills, knowledge and confidence of their people.
The IAB is proud to partner with such a respected business community. As the awarding organisation and education partner for LCCI qualifications, we are excited to continue the LCCI’s legacy with a new generation of finance professionals.

Nine certificates across three levels. Download each qualification specification for the full detail.
Level 1
Ideal for school leavers, career changers, adult returners and aspiring bookkeepers
The entry point to the profession and the first qualification employers recognise on a CV. It gives you a working skill within months rather than years.
At a glance
There are no formal entry requirements, so Level 1 suits learners starting from scratch. Learners studying in a language other than English are recommended to have B1 level English (CEFR) or equivalent.
Level 2
For learners progressing from Level 1, or those with existing bookkeeping knowledge
Moving from bookkeeper to practitioner. You’ll move from recording transactions to preparing accounts, increasing your earning potential and job opportunities.
Level 2
Ideal for business, finance and administration learners
This qualification builds numerical confidence deliberately, covering pricing, margin, cash flow and quoting: the skills that turn a busy practice into a profitable one.
Level 2
Ideal for business and finance learners
With organisations holding more data than ever before, this qualification develops your ability to turn that data into something a manager can act on.
Level 2
Designed for accounting and business learners
Costing is where finance stops reporting the past and starts shaping the future. You’ll learn how the numbers you prepare influence real business decisions.
Level 3
Ideal for learners progressing into professional accounting
This qualification establishes professional credibility. On completion you are no longer supporting the accounts; you are responsible for them.
Level 3
Created for advanced business and finance learners
Building the technical fluency that separates a competent finance professional from a valued one, particularly around investment, financing and pricing decisions.
Level 3
For advanced business learners
Data literacy has moved from desirable to expected. This qualification gives you the vocabulary and the technique to work credibly with evidence.
Level 3
For advanced accounting learners
Developing the thinking that finance leaders are hired for, combining costing expertise with the management accounting techniques used to improve performance.
Career routes
Every certificate above counts towards a career in finance. Choose the route that suits you, employed or in practice, then combine certificates into an LCCI Diploma.
Route 01
Every finance team needs people who can keep records, prepare accounts and explain the numbers. LCCI qualifications map onto those roles level by level, from trainee bookkeeper through to management accountant.
Route 02
Bookkeeping and accounting are among the few professions where a learner can build a business of their own, with low overheads and recurring fees. Levels 1 and 2 build the capability. Level 3 opens the door to IAB Member level and practice.
Learners who successfully complete three Level 2 or three Level 3 qualifications also achieve an LCCI Diploma, recognising both specialist knowledge and a broader understanding of business and finance. For your centre this is a natural way to build a full programme rather than a single certificate.
Diploma eligibility
Learners are eligible to apply for a Diploma once they hold the required certificate plus any two of the listed certificates at the same level.
Progression
Every IAB LCCI qualification is assessed by a single two-hour online examination, set and marked by the IAB and graded Pass, Merit or Distinction. Learners start at the level that fits their experience and build towards the LCCI Diploma, professional recognition and practice.
For centres
For centres, this creates an opportunity to deliver qualifications that employers recognise, learners value and businesses genuinely need.
LCCI provides the qualification framework. Your centre provides the teaching, support and employer connections that turn learning into careers. Together, we prepare learners to become career ready, whether that career is in employment, self-employment or running a successful business.
Why LCCI
01
Every examination is set and marked by the IAB and taken online under controlled conditions, so your team can focus on teaching.
02
Graded Pass, Merit or Distinction, giving learners a result that stands out on a CV and rewards the extra effort.
03
Nine certificates, the LCCI Diploma and a route to AIAB and MIAB recognition keep learners progressing with your centre.
