Learning completed through the platform is also automatically tracked, giving members a clear record of their activity and helping them build their CPD evidence as they go.

Changes to IAB CPD requirements

The launch of AccountingCPD coincides with an important update to IAB CPD requirements.

Going forward, the IAB will count verifiable CPD only, rather than including both verifiable and non-verifiable activity.

This change applies:

  • 5 October 2026 for new members
  • 1 January 2027 for existing members

The annual verifiable CPD requirement will also reflect membership level:

Membership level Annual verifiable CPD
Associate 20 hours
Member 30 hours
Fellow 30 hours

These changes are designed to make CPD requirements clearer and ensure professional development can be evidenced, while the new AccountingCPD benefit gives members practical support to help meet those requirements.
